Bandipora, May 23: A newly married policeman died in a road accident in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, official sources said.
The policeman posted at District Police Lines Bandipora was hit by an oil tanker at Shadipora Payeen in Bandipora during wee hours of Monday.
They said the cop was taken to JVC Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Farhad Ali Wani S/o Haji Ghulam Hyder Wani.
Local sources said that the deceased was 4 days old groom. The oil tanker driver managed to escape from the spot after crushing the policeman.
