Shopian, May 25: In order to remove the evil spirit from a lady, a faith healer allegedly thrashed a woman to death in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official said that a woman Shouby Jan wife of Muzfar Ahmad Sheikh married at Khull Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam was beaten by faith healer during night to remove jin from her body.
He said that incident happened at the woman’s paternal home at Hanjjipora- Kachdoora, Shopian.
She fell unconscious and was evacuated to district hospital Kulgam where doctors declared her dead on arrival. He further added that the faith healer Zakir Ahmad Naikoo son of Manzoor Ahmad Naikoo, resident of Sangran Qazigund, husband of deceased, and a disciple of faith healer have been arrested in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
