JK witnesses surge in Covid cases, reports 165 infections

Srinagar, Jul 14: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday reported 165 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 815 even as no death was reported in the last 24 hours.
An official said that among 165 new cases, 53 belong to Kashmir division while as 112 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 288,551 including 285,814 recoveries and 2,425 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 167,905 including 165,069 recoveries and 2,333 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 815 including 312 from Kashmir division and 503 from Jammu division.
With 119 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 450,883 which is 98.78 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 165 cases today, 43 are from Srinagar, 05 from Ganderbal, two from Anantnag and one each from Baramulla, Pulwama and Kupwara in Kashmir division while 112 are from Jammu division that include 92 from Jammu district, 07 from Udhampur, 06 from Kuthua, 04 from Samba and one each from Rajouri, Ramban and Reasi ,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,596,635 persons in J&K are under observation while 283 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 815 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,590,397 persons have completed the surveillance period and 382 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 25,908,252 samples are available.
“Out of 25,908,252 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,451,796 while 456,456 have tested positive, among them 815 cases are active, 450,883 have recovered and 4,758 persons have died,” it added.
