Keep Kashmir connected

The unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir is certainly a concern for one and all, but the events taking place under the garb of re-employment is badly affecting the ground situation, thus adding to the miseries of the educated but unemployed youth in the Union Territory. The educated youth in Jammu and Kashmir have been moving from pillar to post to seek employment, but all in vain. Amid their efforts, it has come to the fore that many employees, working in different universities across Jammu and Kashmir are enjoying the benefits even after getting superannuation. The report, published in one of the English daily, is indicating the non-serious attitude of the concerned authorities with regard to declining the unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir as according to the report a huge chunk of employees, who after getting superannuation have been re-employed as consultants or under some other arbitrary designations over the last many years, which is not unfairness with the unemployed youth, but also the gross violation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. One fails to understand how long the educated but unemployed youth will be pushed to the wall. The government needs to act against the move and ensure that such practices are put to an immediate end. Such an event of favouritism has to be eliminated from the educational institutions to ensure quality education as well as addressing the grave issue of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir so that things could move in the right direction and the unemployed youth could heave a sigh of relief.
