Fresh recruitment drives imperative

The cancellation of few more recruitment processes in Jammu and Kashmir has further pushed the educated but unemployed youth of the Union Territory to the wall despite making every effort to get the jobs to put an end to the distressed life due to the unemployment. Earlier in July this year, the government cancelled the police sub-inspector recruitment following allegations of irregularities and after elapsing over a month, there has been a fresh announcement, scrapping the recruitment of Finance Accounts Assistants (FAAs) and Junior Engineers (JEs) Civil by Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB). Such a decision has been taken in a bid to probe the allegations of irregularities and ensure strict action against the corrupt practices. However, the move has taken a heavy toll on the candidates, who have been preparing for the examinations and were keen to join their duties after a long gap of hardships and sufferings. The action against the persons involved in corrupt practice is an appreciable move as it would help in bringing transparency on the ground, especially in the recruitment process in the future. But, the time also calls for immediate measures to help the hundreds of unemployed youth to get the job opportunity as the youth have been pushed to the wall since years together to get recruited despite working hard and proving their ability from time to time. The government should consider taking steps to come up with fresh recruitment drives so that the sufferings of the educated but unemployed youth will come to an immediate end and they could heave a sigh of relief.
