Srinagar, May 24: Continuing its mission to reach out to the thousands of deserving families in Kashmir affected by current pandemic, BJYM- the youth wing of BJP started a mega drive to distribute the medical kits among the home quarantine Covid patients in all the ten districts of Kashmir.
The process to distribute these medical kits begun from party office at Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar on Monday, in which 4500 medical kits were distributed among different district presidents for further distribution in their respective areas.
Bilal Parray, BJYM general secretary for J&K inaugurated the mega distribution drive by distributing the medical kits among the district presidents of all the districts of Kashmir, in presence of senior BJP leaders, which include Dr Ali Mohammad, party’s national council member, Altaf Thakur, party spokesperson for J&K, Arif Raja, J&K Publicity Secretary, Manzoor Bhat, Media Incharge Kashmir and other senior leaders.
“We have been doing the philanthropy work during this pandemic to help the deserving families,” Parry said, adding, such initiatives were much needed at this time, as Covid-19 pandemic has affected every section of society very badly.
Bilal Parray further said that the Yuva Morcha workers are always on toes to serve the society. These workers in all the districts would visit house to house to ensure that no Covid positive patient would venture out in search of medicines, which can led to spread of virus to others.
“BJYM workers in the past already have organised blood donation camps, distributed medicines, sanitizers, masks, ration kits among the affected people and in future the mission would be carried on,” Parry added.
Pertinently, this was the first such biggest initiative by any political party in Kashmir to help the Covid positive patients during this pandemic, in which all the district presidents of Yuva Morcha were present.
This drive is carried out on the pattern of drive carried out by seva sangathan at country level.
Dr Ali Mohammad appreciated the efforts of BJYM workers for their work from last some time. “In such tough time, BJYM workers are doing commendable job with enthusiasm and determination,” he said.
Altaf Thakur patted the efforts of BJYM workers and said that these people have worked very hard by launching several initiatives in the past as well. “We are very impressed with the ongoing mission of BJYM workers and are ready to support in their future endeavours,” Thakur said.
Arif Raja also extended his full support to the BJYM leaders in such activities in future.
On the occasion, Manzoor Bhat also praised the dedication and commitment of BJYM workers for serving the people in tough times.
To ensure the medical kits would reach in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir, BJYM distributed them into three zones- central Kashmir, south Kashmir and north Kashmir.
