Shopian, Sep 14: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday chaired a weekly Public Outreach programme under the Block Diwas initiative of the government at Zainapora, here.
The locals of the area raised various issues like macadamization of roads, better healthcare facilities, and other issues of public importance.
The DDC heard their issues patiently and directed the concerned officers to take appropriate action in fulfilling the developmental requirements of the public on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, Vaishya appealed to people for their active cooperation with the District Administration in charting the new developmental history of the district.
He also exhorted them to guide their children towards the right path of moral, career development and to take measures at their individual and community levels against the menace of drug consumption.
The DDC also appreciated Haziq Parvez Lone, 10th Rank NEET qualifier from Shopian district who brought laurels not only to his family but also to the District and UT.
He said that the District Administration is always on forefront to facilitate the people of the district in improving their economic avenues and opportunities, while adding that it becomes the responsibility of people also to provide a helping hand to the District Administration especially in eradication of the menace of drugs so that the future of the newer generations is saved from degradation and ruin.
Later, the DDC inspected developmental and macadamization works in the area and directed the concerned to complete ongoing works in a stipulated time frame.
Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana; SDM Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmad; Tehsildar Zainapora, Hamidullah; BDO Zainapora, Jahid Azad and officials of various departments and locals were present on the occasion.
