45 deaths, 2237 positive cases reported in JK

Srinagar, May 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Monday witnessed 45 deaths due to Covid-19 while 2,237 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 45,630.
With 45 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,609 and 2,237 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 272,858. Jammu and Kashmir is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 272,858 cases, 167,480 are from Kashmir division and 105,378 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 2,237 new cases, 1,383 belong to Kashmir division while as 854 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 167,480 including 138,711 recoveries and 1,877 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 105,378 including 84,908 recoveries and 1,732 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 45,630 including 26,892 from Kashmir division and 18,738 from Jammu division.
With 3,999 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 223,619 which is 81.95 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 309 from Srinagar, 103 from Baramulla, 221 from Budgam, 77 from Pulwama, 204 from Kupwara, 106 from Anantnag, 77 from Bandipora, 91 from Ganderbal, 168 from Kulgam and 26 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 854 from Jammu division include 441 from Jammu, 55 from Udhampur, 66 from Rajouri, 43 from Doda, 49 from Kathua, 31 from Samba, 47 from
Kishtwar, 27 from Poonch, 47 from Ramban and 48 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 45 deaths reported today, 14 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Doda, 04 in GMC Rajouri, 04 in MH Jammu, 01 in CD Hosp Jammu, 03 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in DH Ramban, 01 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 04 in DH Pulwama, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 04 in JLNM Srinagar, 03 in GMC Baramulla & 01 in CHC Kupwara.
As per officials figures, 62,468 positive cases including 737 deaths and 56,048 recoveries are from Srinagar, 19,955 including 243 deaths and 16,889 recoveries are from Baramulla, 18,895 including 14,267 recoveries and 164 deaths are from Budgam, 12,008 including 9,620 recoveries and 156 deaths are from Pulwama, 10,887 including 135 deaths and 8,847 recoveries are from Kupwara, 13,280 including 9,334 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Anantnag, 7,957 cases including 6,657 and 83 deaths are from Bandipora, 7,876 including 6,642 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,159 including 6,553 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,995 including 3,854 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 48,128 including 40,099 recoveries and 976 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,118 including 8,634 recoveries and 112 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,059 including 5,909 recoveries and 159 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,193 including 4,029 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Doda, 8,335 including 7,160 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Kathua, 6,441 including 3,964 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Samba, 3,813 including 3,469 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,776 including 3,700 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Poonch, 4,556 including 3,626 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ramban and 4,959 including 4,318 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,035,953 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 74,787 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 45,630 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,770,565 persons have completed the surveillance period and 141,002 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,270,069 samples are available. Out of 8,270,069 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,997,211 while as 272,858 have tested positive, among them 45,630 persons are active, 224,619 persons have recovered and 3,609 persons have died.
