Modernising J&K Horticulture

The deadly pandemic—Covid-19 has almost vanished from Jammu and Kashmir as one of the two regions—Jammu, recorded not even a single case on Monday while only 12 cases from three districts of Kashmir were reported, indicating an end to the deadly virus. However, one of the doctors’ bodies in Kashmir amid such a situation has once again come up with a statement, predicting a bad flu season ahead and asking people to get the influenza shot. The deadly pandemic has already created a fear psychosis among the people as the worse situation witnessed in 2020 and 2021 forced the imposition of lockdown, leading to the huge losses to the general public. Moreover, the virus claimed many lives as well and also left many people jobless. In such a situation, no room should be given to anyone to add to the fear of psychosis among the general public and thus there is a need to ensure that no chaotic statement is made by anyone, which would leave the people in distress. It is the time when all the departments, especially the health department should come up with some stringent measures to curb the actions of some people, who are out to create fear among the public. Making appeals to the people is appreciable, but there should be no laxity in ensuring an end to the statements that create fear among the masses. The government should play its pivotal role in making people aware about the influenza shot and press its men and machinery to ensure every eligible person is vaccinated well on time.
