Srinagar, May 25: After a wait of around 25 days, the vaccination drive for 18-44 age group was started in six more districts after it was started in two districts of Jammu and Srinagar on May 1.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Shahid Hussain said that on Tuesday, the vaccination drive for 18-44 was started in six more districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that in Jammu district, the districts in which drive was started include Udhampur, Kuthua and Rajouri while as in Kashmir division, the drive was started in Anantnag, Baramulla and Budgam.
He said that the drive in rest of the districts will start very soon. Dr Shahid added that as of now there is no shortage of vaccination in the UT.
Pertinently, the vaccination started in Jammu and Kashmir on January 16 and first health care workers and front line workers were covered.
Later the vaccination was started in all above 60 and then all above 45 and on May 01, the vaccination drive for 18-44 year age group was started in Srinagar and Jammu districts.
However, due to shortage of vaccine, drive wasn’t started in rest of 18 districts and it was finally started in six districts today.
