Creating lasting opportunities

As the developments continue to remain the war cry of the incumbent administration of Jammu and Kashmir, the far-off villages in the Union territory especially in the Valley still lack the basic facilities here, causing immense hardships to the people. The people from different areas usually highlight their plights through the media outlets almost every day as the inconvenience they have been facing is taking a heavy toll on their normal lives. The lack of development despite upgrading the areas to tehsil level is also being witnessed in the Valley. In one such instance, Gund village in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district was reportedly given Tehsil status some seven years back, but unfortunately, the people here are still being forced to face hardships, which puts the question mark over the developmental claims of the administration. One fails to understand why the authorities have failed to ensure even the basic facilities to the people in far-off villages of Kashmir. Depriving the people of basic facilities in the 21st century is quite shocking and unfortunate, which needs to be looked at seriously as it is the high time when all the genuine demands and grievances of the general public living in these localities should be fulfilled and resolved. The concerned authorities should look into the matter at an earliest and ensure that at least basic facilities that are pivotal in the present era are ensured to the residents there so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
