Srinagar, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
“A police party led by In-charge Police Post Reshipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti intercepted a suspicious person at a special checkpoint established at Lidermarh crossing. During the search, 1.3Kgs of grinded cannabis was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar resident of Ladermar Pulwama. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 224/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation initiated.
