Coronavirus: 40 patients die, 3037 new cases in JK

Srinagar, May 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Wednesday witnessed 40 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,037 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 43,892.
With 40 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,702 and 3,037 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 278,859. Jammu and Kashmir is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 278,859 cases, 171,247 are from Kashmir division and 107,612 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 3,037 new cases, 1,948 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,089 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 171,247 including 143,161 recoveries and 1,918 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 107,612 including 88,104 recoveries and 1,784 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 43,892 including 26,168 from Kashmir division and 17,724 from Jammu division.
With 4,024 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 231,265 which is 82.93 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 493 from Srinagar, 260 from Baramulla, 197 from Budgam, 145 from Pulwama, 153 from Kupwara, 212 from Anantnag, 89 from Bandipora, 219 from Ganderbal, 117 from Kulgam and 63 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,089 from Jammu division include 445 from Jammu, 83 from Udhampur, 126 from Rajouri, 91 from Doda, 82 from Kathua, 46 from Samba, 35 from Kishtwar, 66 from Poonch, 99 from Ramban and 16 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 40 deaths reported today, 05 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Doda, 02 in ASCOMS Jmu, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 03 in CHC Bani, 01 in CHC Katra, 01 in CHC Bhaderwah, 01 in CH Udhampur, 01 in Psychiatry Hosp Jmu, 01 in SMVDNH Katra, 02 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 05 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in DH Pulwama, 03 in GMC Anantnag, 03 in GMC Baramulla, 02 in JLNM Hospital, 01 in CD Hosp Sgr, 01 in CHC Kupwara & 01 in CHC Tangdar.
As per officials figures, 63,448 positive cases including 751 deaths and 56,802 recoveries are from Srinagar, 20,435 including 248 deaths and 17,251 recoveries are from Baramulla, 19,358 including 15,503 recoveries and 169 deaths are from Budgam, 12,322 including 9,936 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Pulwama, 11,131 including 138 deaths and 9,160 recoveries are from Kupwara, 13,715 including 9,548 recoveries and 156 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,131 cases including 7,089 and 84 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,192 including 6,845 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,385 including 7,120 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,130 including 3,907 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 49,011 including 41,079 recoveries and 1,003 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,303 including 9,077 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,284 including 6,410 recoveries and 163 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,346 including 4,127 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Doda, 8,534 including 7,447 recoveries and 123 deaths are from Kathua, 6,571 including 4,373 recoveries and 103 deaths are from Samba, 3,875 including 3,469 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,900 including 3,936 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Poonch, 4,765 including 3,731 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Ramban and 5,023 including 4,455 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,050,607 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 75,604 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 43,892 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,784,961 persons have completed surveillance period and 142,448 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,359,251 samples are available. Out of 8,359,251 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,080,392 while as 278,859 have tested positive, among them 43,892 persons are active, 231,265 persons have recovered and 3,702 persons have died.
