Srinagar, Oct 18: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Tuesday chaired the 38th and 39th Annual General Meetings (AGMs) of Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Planning and Marketing Corporation (JKHPMC) limited at Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo; Secretary in APD, Mohammad Akbar Wani; MD JKHPMC, Shafat Sultan, stakeholders of the corporation and other concerned officials.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on different aspects of the corporation besides the Audited accounts of various financial years were also discussed in detail during the meeting.
Addressing the officers, Advisor Bhatnagar enjoined upon them to utilise all the assets of corporation optimally so that the corporation is made financially viable. He impressed upon the officers to conduct market intelligence survey of all the established units of the corporation to assess their feasibility for better revenue generation.
The Advisor further directed the management of corporation to maintain the financial discipline in the corporation and complete audit of all the pending years for timely submission to CAG.
The Advisor also urged the management of Corporation to hold regular interactions and consultations with its shareholders as well as the fruit growers so that much needed technological interventions are adopted for sustainable growth of the corporation.
During the AGM, the Audited accounts of Financial Years 2015-16 and 2016-17 were adopted.
During the meeting, Managing Director, JKHPMC, Shafat Sultan gave a detailed presentation and progress report on the various projects undertaken by the Corporation. He informed the AGM that Food Packaging Manufacturing Unit at Jageer Sopore and 120 MT integrated Pack house for Potatoes and Onions at Narwal Jammu have been commissioned by the corporation.
