Srinagar, Oct 26: A soldier was injured during a gunfight with militants in Sheeri Chandoosa, a forest area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Wednesday.
A senior police officer said that a contact was established with the militants during a cordon and search operation launched by police and army in the woods today.
In the initial exchange of fire, a soldier sustained bullet wound in leg and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The operation is going on, he added. (GNS)
