Mass promotions futile exercise

The examinations are the means to permit the students to portray his or her ability and hard work. Nonetheless, the students when being deprived of such an opportunity will not only affect their career, but also leave them to face hardships in the future competitive examinations. In yet another instance of attack on the academics of the student, the government has decided to cancel the examinations in Jammu region of class 10th and have also decided their promotion to class XI will be decided on the basis of their performance in subjects already undertaken in present exam and internal assessment. One fails to understand why the government is taking such decisions in a hurry. Why can’t the students wait for a month or two more to enter the examination halls again to show the ability? These decisions would certainly not help in ensuring a better future in Jammu and Kashmir. We cannot have a better future until and unless we have a talented and educated youth in the society. One fails to understand how long the government will continue to go ahead with the mass promotions. There are people who believe that such decisions are only putting the career of the students at stake. There is a need to deliberate upon these decisions again and allow the students to show their ability rather than letting them remain half-educated. The mass promotion is only a futile exercise and the government must think beyond such decisions and help the society in having educated and qualified youth, who will be able to run the affairs in the future.
