Doctors: The heartbeat of our healthcare system

Even though the government has been making assurances that everything has been set into the motion to ensure better services to the people during the winters, however, the statement made by one of the top chairs in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has put question mark over the claims of the government, indicating the possibility of facing hardships after the snowfall in the Valley, especially in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar. The Deputy Mayor SMC has made it clear that there are enough snow machines available with the corporation, but claimed that there is lack of manpower to run them. It is unfortunate that the corporation has not taken appropriate steps to ensure better facilities to the people. However, the procurement of the essential machinery by utilizing massive funds from the government is seemingly getting wasted as to run the machinery, it is pivotal and imperative to have the manpower available so that the reason behind procuring the machines is achieved. But, one fails to understand why the machines are being procured without having the manpower. The government needs to look into the matter and take immediate steps to ensure the strength of manpower in the corporation so that the people could heave a sigh of relief and the motive behind procuring these machines are achieved. It is the time when the utilization of funds should not get wasted and it is the time to take action against those who have failed to ensure better services to the people or have shown negligent attitude towards their work.
