Covid-19 vaccination drive by Tourism deptt concludes

Around 9000 stakeholders inoculated in Sgr, elsewhere in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 28: Around 9000 tourism players were inoculated in the Valley during the four-day vaccination drive organized by the department of Tourism Kashmir. The vaccination drive, which commenced on Tuesday, concluded here on Friday.
The department had organized a vaccination drive for the tourism stakeholders associated with the industry in which around 9000 people were inoculated across Kashmir at various vaccination sites in different districts, an official said.
An official from the tourism department said that after the department was instructed to ramp up the vaccination for the stakeholders, many vaccination sites were opened at different tourist destinations.
The official said that those who have been vaccinated during this drive include hoteliers, restaurant owners, guest house owners and their entire frontline and backend staff.
Apart from district Srinagar, the drive was carried at world famous Ski-resort Gulmarg in district Baramulla, Pahalgam in district Anantnag and Dodhipatheri in district Budgam.
The inoculation drive also covered the Cab operators who are in direct interface with tourists, and one more vaccination drive was also carried at Tourist Taxi stand at Srinagar Airport.
The officials further added that the department wants to ensure that all the tourism players are inoculated however in case, if anyone is left out among the stakeholders, they will be also taken care of and will be vaccinated.
