Make heating arrangements at schools

With the government remaining tight-lipped over the winter vacations for the school-going children in Kashmir amid the drop in the temperature, the students have been complaining of non-availability of the heating arrangements at the schools, causing great inconvenience to them. The non-availability of heating arrangements at schools have always remained the burning issue, which has been highlighted by the media from time to time, but, one fails to understand why the concerned department has failed to ensure that the heating gadgets are available at the educational institutions for the sake of the little students, who have been facing immense hardships due to the unavailability of the heating arrangements. Yet again, the students have been facing hardships as the government has not decided to announce the winter break here in the schools and colleges of the Valley due to the drop in the temperature. However, as the three-day wet spell resulted in further drip in the temperature, the school-going students had to face immense hardships as there were no heating arrangements at the educational institutions, forcing many of the parents not to allow their wards to attend the classes. As the decision about the winter break is still not taken, the government should come up with strict directions to the educational institutions, asking them to ensure the availability of heating arrangements at their respective schools for the sake of the little buds so that they could heave a sigh of relief. It is the time when the concerned department should also start surprise visits to the schools to take necessary action against the educational institutions.
