Army man dies in ‘accidental fire’ on LoC in Poonch

Rajouri, Nov 9: An army man was killed on Wednesday after his service rifle went off accidentally on Line of Control (LoC) in Mankote area of Mendhar sub division of Poonch district.
The deceased has been identified as Eswaran R son of Rajendran resident of Tamil Nadu.
Police officials said that army personnel was performing his routine duties when his service weapon went off accidentally and he received a gunshot wound and died on the spot.
The body of deceased army personnel was shifted to sub district hospital Mendhar where medico-legal formalities have been conducted and police said to have started investigation into the matter.
