DC Budgam reviews preparations for “MY Town MY Pride “programme

Budgam, Nov 14: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, S F Hamid Monday convened a meeting of officers to review the preparations for upcoming ‘My Town My Pride’ programme.
All the officers were directed to ensure full coordination with the municipalities to ensure that the desired objectives of the programme are achieved.
The officers deliberated in detail about various aspects of the programme including the logistics.
The EOs of the concerned municipalities informed that a number of development projects will be inaugurated and launched including lanes/drains, maintenance of roads.
Sanctioning of new water supply schemes besides sanctioning of PMAY-U cases, new pension cases, sanction letters, plantation drives, sanitation drives and other beneficiary schemes and activities will also be carried out.
The status of civic amenities, street lights, Sewerage treatment plant, solid waste management techniques were also discussed and apprised to the chair.
DC called for further empowering and strengthening of Urban local bodies. He said the programme will include closer review of their functioning. He directed every department of the district to install stalls in each municipality in the respective programme.
Sports events, cultural programmes and awareness should be part of the programme, added the DC.
He said this programme is a connection between public and administration regarding their various developmental activities and is a very important tool to achieve institutionalization of “Jan Baghidari”.
He said on the lines of recently concluded “Back to Village-4” programme, the MY Town MY Pride ‘programme will also envisage time bound delivery of documents like domicile, income certificates, revenue services, besides ensuring benefits under various schemes including pensions, scholarships, PMAY-U, KCC, Golden Health cards, Ladli beti etc.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to use the programme as a platform to generate awareness about various schemes/initiatives of their respective departments.
