Handwara, Nov 18: An elderly woman was injured after being attacked by a black bear in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
An official said that Fareeda Begum, wife of Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, resident of Guloora village of Langate in Handwara was attacked by a bear outside her home.
Soon after the attack, the family members and other people around came and rescued her from the wild animal, he said, adding that the injured woman was immediately evacuated to the district hospital Handwara wherein she is being treated. (KNO)
