MTMP bridge between community, government: DC Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 6: A Mass Public Outreach Programme “My Town My Pride” 2.0 which began on Monday concludes here Tuesday in Srinagar amid participation of about 70000 citizens including School/ College Students across the District.
On Day 2nd, the ambitious programme of the Government witnessed a series of activities organised by the District Administration, Srinagar under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad during which visiting Officers took detailed assessment of public aspirations to ensure doorstep delivery of services and successful conduct of MTMP 2.0 programme.
Speaking about the successful conduct of the MTMP-2.0, the Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad termed It a festival of Public Service Delivery, a connect between Community and Administration aimed to bring Administration at the door steps of the people and take detailed assessment of public aspirations and address their issues.
The DC appreciated the efforts made by all line Departments in making MTMP-2.0 successful.
During the programmes, Departments including Health, Education, SMC, SDA, Jal Shakti, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, CSC, DIC, Labour, Employment, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture and Horticulture and Banks etc had established their stalls at designated locations in the City for public awareness, grievance redressal, enrolment under beneficiary schemes and other programmes involving developmental works in City.
Various activities were conducted under MTMP-2.0 including resolution of public welfare and other developmental issues, besides special events under sports, painting, plantation etc were also held with regard to drug de-addiction under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
As many as 45000 students from different Educational institutions also were the part of the MTMP programme who exhibited their talent through sports, cultural, competitions, NSS and other activities.
In addition, SMC, LCMA and SDA also conducted several programes under “Shehri Jan Abhiyan(MTMP 2.0)”, while plantation drives were also conducted by Forest Department in all SMC Ward of the City.
Distribution of benefits under various schemes including on spot delivery of services to the citizens like, domicile, income certificates, Revenue related documents, pensions, scholarships, Golden card, Adhaar Card, PMAY-U, social security schemes, self-employment schemes etc were also undertaken while all line Departments also created awareness through dedicated stalls at the venues.
Under the MTMP 2.0, Shehri Jan Abhiyan, the Draft Plans including City Resource Mobilization Plan, City Livelihood Plan, City Beautification Plan, City Smart Vending Plan, City Tourism and Culture Plan, Green City Plan and City Anti Encroachment & Enforcement Plan were also discussed with local public representatives and the people of the City so that they are implemented effectively for overall development of City and welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner had asked the concerned Officers to make sure that all Plans through “Shehri Jan Abhiyan(MTMP 2.0)” must incorporate social security/public welfare schemes and development centric activities, besides livelihood generations programmes in order to provide employment opportunities for youth of the City.
Moreover, the DC had stressed the Officer to give focused attention towards youth welfare and Drug menace during the Shehri Jan Abhiyan campaign.
