Srinagar, Jun 1: A very vital road from Naina to Tulkhan village in Anantnag district of south Kashmir is in dilapidated condition for several years now and authorities are watching the sufferings of the people as mute spectators, locals alleged Tuesday.
Locals from Naina, G B Khalil, Tulkhan and many other adjoining areas alleged that road has never been macadamised and authorities have left the road in shambles and people are waiting for macadamisation to take place.
They said that the dilapidated condition of the road is giving tough time to commuters and those who have to travel through the road for various purposes.
Sajad Ahmad, a resident of Naina village, said that this road is of vital importance as the road connects Pulwama road to Kulgam , however authorities have neglected it.
He added that the road connects around half dozen villages to National Highway-44 but authorities are not giving any importance to this road.
“This road is being used as an alternative to National Highway 44 from Sangam to Bijbehara when there is traffic jam or any other thing on the road,” said Sameer Ahmad, another local.
Locals say that they have been informing the higher authorities to pay heed to the road but all such prayers have fallen to ground. The locals once again requested higher-ups to take up the development of the road at an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
