Rajouri police files chargesheet against four LeT associates

Rajouri, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri on Friday filed a chargesheet against four Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) associates under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosive Substance Act.
According to a statement, Rajouri police filed a chargesheet against four LeT associates namely Talib Hussain S/o Haider Shah R/o Draj, Koteranka, Mohd Shabir S/o Gh. Hussain, Mohd Sadiq S/o Ibrahiem Rs/o Draj, Koteranka, District Rajouri and Mohd Qasim @Suleman S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Angrala District Reasi A/p Pakistan.
“Chargesheet against all the four accused was filed in NIA court Jammu under the Unlawful Activities(Prevention)Act and Explosive Substance Act. The three accused were arrested in the month of June/July 2022.”
During the course of investigation it is found that all of them were associated with the militant group and involved in militancy related activities, police said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the fourth accused namely Mohd Qasim @Suleman is presently in Pakistan, who crossed the border illegally in the 2002 and is instrumental in spreading terror activities in the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley by creating nexus with Local inhabitants through drone droppings, carrying consignments of illegal arms and ammunition across the border.
The investigation exposed the militant network in Pir Panjal areas and Chenab Valley. The chargesheet was filed before the Court by DySP Police Component Rajouri Shivender Singh Jamwal, the statement said.
