Srinagar, Jan 4: There pistols, as many Chinese grenades and other ammunition were on Wednesday recovered by a joint team of police and Army in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, a police spokesman said.
“Acting on specific information, Police alongwith Army (03/08GR) launched a joint cordon & search operation in village Sadhpora Taad area of Karnah, Kupwara,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
During the search operation, the joint team recovered arms & ammunition including three Pistols, three Pistol Magazines, 22 Pistol rounds and three Chinese Grenades from a house belonging to Shameem Ahmad Sheikh son of Suderdin Sheikh of Sudhpora Taad, police said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 02/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress. (KNO)
