Dulloo reviews CAPEX, CSS, NABARD, Deliverables of Horticulture sector

Jammu, Jan 18: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of Horticulture sector under CAPEX, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), NABARD and Deliverables.
Secretary in APD, Director Horticulture Kashmir/Jammu, Director Agriculture Kashmir/Jammu, Director Horticulture (P&M), Managing Director JKHPMC and other concerned attended the meeting in person and in virtual mode.
Director Horticulture Kashmir and Jammu delivered presentations over the approved outlay plan, release of funds and expenditure subsequently under CAPEX Budget of Horticulture sector for the year 2022-23.
The ACS discussed the component wise breakup of activities, approved outlays, release of funds and expenditure of physical and financial progress for both the divisions of Kashmir and Jammu.
The meeting was informed that under the CAPEX Budget 2022-23, out of Rs 199.40 crore, Rs 128.33 crore were released to various Heads of the Departments, of which Rs 42.48 crore were expended under different activities of the Horticulture sector in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
It was given out that for Horticulture Kashmir under CAPEX Budget 2022-23, out of Rs 33 crore, Rs 23.72 crore were released and Rs 11.84 were spent under the activities of Development of Nurseries, Establishment of Plant Protection/Soil Labs/Post Harvest Management Centers, Procurement of Machinery and Equipments, Subsidy/Incentive for promotion of Horticulture and Horticulture Infrastructure.
Similarly, during the meeting it was given out that Rs 9.27 crore were spent, out of released funds of Rs 21 crore for several activities for Horticulture Jammu under the CAPEX Budget.
The meeting also held a threadbare discussion on major targets, achievements and deliverables for the year 2022-23 under CAPEX.
Besides, the meeting had a detailed overview of the components of activities undertaken during the year 2022-23 under the CAPEX under several sub heads.
The meeting also held detailed discussions over the major targets, their achievements and deliverables of Horticulture (Planning & Marketing) and J&K Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation Ltd under CAPEX, CSS, NABARD and other major initiatives.
Also, the ACS was informed about the approved outlay, release of funds and expenditure under different CSSs in the UT while holding a detailed overview besides physical achievements of all sectors of Horticulture departments.
Later, the meeting held a threadbare discussion over the financial and physical achievements and deliverables approved outlay under NABARD funds released and expenditure thereof.
Summing up the meeting, Dulloo directed the concerned Heads of the Departments to remain more focused on achievements and deliverables and improve in components which show little progress.
He called upon the officers to gear up and remove all bottlenecks to finish projects within stipulated timelines.
