Keep Kashmir connected

Most of the interior areas of Srinagar Old City areas have been ignored by the people as there has been no relief to the people as far as the roads are concerned. It is unfortunate that every time, the concerned Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) claims high and tall, but what is being done on the ground is quite contrary to the statements of those at the helm of affairs. One fails to understand why the people in Srinagar are being ignored always when it comes to the macadamization of the interior roads, which leave the people to lurch at large, especially during the winters when the snowfall and rains led to the inundation of the roads. It is not about the lack of money that deprives the concerned SMC officials to macadamize the interior roads, but what deprives them is the lack of interest towards serving the people and accommodating their aspirations. It seems that the SMC is reluctant to bring respite to the people from the prevalent situation of the roads and thus ignore the mandatory macadamization process, leading to the miseries of the people, especially commuters. The government should take immediate and necessary action against the SMC officials for depriving the people from mandatory macadamization process and ensure that all those who are not allowing the development to progress will face the law so that the people can be able to witness the availability of every basic facility, especially roads, water and electricity.
