Srinagar, Jan 25: A truck driver died and two others were injured when shooting stones hit two vehicles on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near the Magarkote area of Ramban on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam said that due to overnight rains, the shooting stones hit two vehicles.
In the incident, a truck driver died on the spot while two others suffered injuries, he said, adding that the injured have been shifted to PHC Ramsoo for treatment.
The truck driver has been identified as Muneeb Tak of Supat, Kulgam, while the injured have been identified as Gopal Singh of Peera and Rajinder Nath of Batote.
Meanwhile, the traffic authorities said the Jammu-Srinagar National highway is through but intermittent shooting stones continue at Mehar and Panthyal.
“People are advised not to travel on the highway between Nashri and Banihal till Bharat Jodo Yatra is over,” they said.
