In the meeting, the speakers while welcoming the arrival of Ramadhan stressed on its sanctity, respect and fulfillment of rights of this holy month, and appealed to all Imams, scholars and preachers of Jammu & Kashmir to focus on the purification of the soul and reforming of society during the entire month of Ramadan.
They said Kashmiri society today faces serious problems like rising crime rates, moral turpitude, drug addiction, domestic violence, suicide incidents, and youth waywardness; and to tackle these, a strong awareness campaign should be conducted by informing the people through religious, reformative, da’wah and tablighi meetings so that the land of saints and scholars can be saved from becoming a breeding ground for new evils, myths and crimes.
