Srinagar, Mar 25: Locals found a dead body of a man in the Rambagh area of Srinagar uptown.
Sources said that police were informed by shopkeepers who accordingly shifted the dead body to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for post-mortem.
Sources identified the deceased as Muhammad Salman Wani son of Irshad Ahmed Wani a resident of Rambagh.
A police official said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law. “Investigation will start once the postmortem report is received,” he added.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased demanded a thorough probe. They alleged that it is a murder and not a natural death. “Salman had gone with Tableegi Jamat and we don’t know what has happened to him. The ‘murder’ should be probed thoroughly,” they said. [KNT]
