Despite the fact that the fee fixation committee (FFC) has been formed to end the miseries of the parents, the private educational institutions have been acting as profiteers by resorting to illegal fee hikes as per their will, leaving the people to lurch at large. It has been reported that the School Education Department (SED) has tightened a noose against the private schools for resorting to illegal hikes in fees. One fails to understand why these profiteers are being allowed to loot the parents openly. It seems that the private schools have been let loose to come up with the orders with regard to fee hike in schools as the parents are receiving information about fee hike through social media groups and SMS as well. There is a need to act tough against the schools for not obeying the government orders and pushing the parents to the wall. It is the time when a stringent action is mandatory to keep the private schools in limits and not to push the parents to the wall. Such is the situation that the department itself has admitted that the private school managements have become so arrogant that they withhold the results of the students who don’t pay advance fees of the current month which is yet to finish. A committee has to be constituted in this regard to ascertain why the private schools are not bothering to obey the rules set by the government. Therefore, all such institutions must be directed to consult the parent body first and also come up with the measures to de-register the schools that are not obeying the law so that the parents could heave a sigh of relief.
