Srinagar, Jun 10: A senior medico from Kashmir has alleged that he was duped after he received two cloth pieces in a parcel from a courier boy from a lesser known company.
Dr. Javid Ahmad, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Wakura said that he had ordered a lady suit from a company.
“After some days, I received a call from a courier boy who informed him that there is a courier on his name,” he said, adding that after delivering the parcel, the courier boy sought the amount of Rs 1100 from him for the product, which he has paid to him through his (courier boy) personal account.
However, once he reached home to open the parcel, he found two cloth pieces in it, leaving him in utter shock.
“I contacted the courier boy again to verify it. But, he didn’t return my amount and was reluctant to even provide the details of the company from which I bought the material. Shockingly, there was no address of the company mentioned on the parcel as well,” he said.
Nonetheless, the concerned courier boy when contacted said that he has nothing to do with the material the consumer has bought. “I dropped the parcel there, which is my duty. But, if there is any issue with the product, the consumer can apply for refund or return it according to the company norms,” he said.
