New chapter for tribal empowerment

The macadamization process like previous years has once again started by the government as the day temperature has witnessed an increase in the Valley. Most roads of the Valley had developed potholes and were giving a tough time to the commuters. After complaints registered by the local populace, the concerned Roads and Buildings (R&B) department has finally woken up and started a macadamization process of roads. Many major roads and main roads have been macadamized so far, thus giving a relief to the commuters. However, one fails to understand whose baby is going to macadamize the interior roads in Srinagar. There are many roads in interiors of Srinagar City that have not been repaired or macadamized from the last several years, thus adding to the miseries of the local populace. The interior roads of Srinagar have developed huge potholes at several places, but there seems no one to hear the pleas of the people. At a time when the macadamization process is going on, the government should consider directing the concerned department to look into the hardships of locals in Srinagar areas and ensure that blacktopping is done in the interiors as well so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief. The people living in the interiors of Srinagar City deserve the better facilities, for which the measures must be taken to ensure that Srinagarities would also see better roads and other related things.
