Rise in crimes

Very swiftly, Kashmir is losing its charm as the land of sufi saints is no longer pure and filled with love and affection as the social crimes, especially within the families have increased in the past some time. The situation has reached to the extent where a woman is being killed by her own son while the daughter is being killed by her own father. It is gruesome, but a bitter truth, which depicts the changing and worsening situation in the Valley. In the recent past, Kashmir has witnessed a couple of incidents wherein two women and a minor girl were killed. It started from Budgam in the recent where a woman was killed by a man, who gruesomely chopped her body as well. After that, Sopore area in north Kashmir witnessed another shocking incident where an elderly woman was killed by her son following which a minor girl was killed by her own father in Kupwara district of north Kashmir. The rise in such killings is expressing the worsening Kashmir situation, especially against the women, who deserve the highest respect within the society as per the Islamic teachings. The time calls for intervention of the religious clerics to address the issue of rising crimes so that the people will follow the teachings of Islam and also stay away from such kinds of heinous crimes. The religious organizations should join their hands at this juncture and stop turning the situation from bad to worse so that the situation would remain under control.
