Coronavirus: 17 deaths, 906 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Jun 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Friday witnessed 17 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 906 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 17,585
With 17 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,160 and 906 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 305,772
Of the exact number of 305,772 cases, 189,274 are from Kashmir division and 116,498 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 906 new cases, 662 belong to Kashmir division while as 244 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 189,274 including 176,023 recoveries and 2,138 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 116,498 including 108,004 recoveries and 2,022 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 17,585 including 11,113 from Kashmir division and 6,472 from Jammu division.
With 1,885 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 284,027 which is 92.88 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 156 from Srinagar, 86 from Baramulla, 92 from Budgam, 63 from Pulwama, 74 from Kupwara, 54 from Anantnag, 44 from Bandipora, 31 from Ganderbal, 53 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 244 from Jammu division include 53 from Jammu, 19 from Udhampur, 39 from Rajouri, 21 from Doda, 11 from Kathua, 21 from Samba, 14 from Kishtwar, 43 from Poonch, 18 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed
Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported and toll stands at 18.
Out of 17 deaths reported today, 01 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in GMC Rajouri, 03 in GMC Doda, 01 in DH Reasi, 03 in Home/ Brought Dead, 04 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina & 01 in GMC Anantnag.
As per officials figures, 67,915 positive cases including 809 deaths and 64,615 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,584 including 272 deaths and 20,435 recoveries are from Baramulla, 21,675 including 20,232 recoveries and 199 deaths are from Budgam, 14,294 including 12,797 recoveries and 180 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,130 including 151 deaths and 12,026 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,412 including 14,298 recoveries and 191 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,917 cases including 8,437 and 98 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,234 including 8,629 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,630 including 9,498 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,483 including 5,056 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 51,931 including 48,379 recoveries and 1,114 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,966 including 10,528 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,306 including 9,474 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,277 including 5,154 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Doda, 9,045 including 8,738 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Kathua, 6,964 including 6,495 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Samba, 4,217 including 3,979 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,784 including 4,910 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Poonch, 5,532 including 5,074 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Ramban and 5,476 including 5,273 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,216,384 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 70,906 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 17,685 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,987,934 persons have completed surveillance period and 135,799 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,083,419 samples are available. Out of 9,083,419 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,777,647 while as 304,866 have tested positive, among them 17,585 persons are active, 284,027 persons have recovered and 4,160 persons have died.
