Srinagar, Jun 12: In view of the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the valley, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) had decided to go with the 50 percent discount on the existing tariffs barring few locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The JKTDC has further decided to enhance the existing infrastructure with centralised heating and other modifications at main stations of the valley.
Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) Nissar Ahmad said, with the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the JKTDC has decided to continue with the 50 percent discount on tariffs barring few properties at some locations which are exempted from the discount.
He further said, the department after getting the approval for the infrastructural upgradation for JKTDC properties, a sum of Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for the year 2021-2022.
“The department will take up the infrastructural upgrade at main stations which will include the centralised heating as well,” he said.
JKTDC has properties spread all over Jammu and Kashmir. According to the officials from the department under the infrastructural upgradation program some of the stations which will be covered are Cheshmashahi, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Phalgham, Patnitop, Mansar, Katra and Akhnoor.
“Once the department receives the funds for the work, the tenders will be floated,” an official said.
