BJP Kissan Morcha delegation calls on Atal Dulloo

Jammu, Apr 20: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kissan Morcha Jammu and Kashmir headed by Sarabjit Singh Johal, President BJP J&K Kissan Morcha met the Additional Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo here Thursday.
Prominent among others present in the delegation were Rakesh Pant General Secretary Kissan Morcha BJP J&K, Vice President Narinder Singh, Rohit Verma, Vice President Darshan Choudhary, Secretary Kulbir Kour, Gurbachan Singh, DDC Member Abhinandan Sharma, Bakshi ji and Ajay Singh ji.
During the meeting with the Additional Chief Secretary, Sarabjit Singh Johal conveyed thanks on behalf of the Kissan Morcha for the financial package of Rs. 5013 cr appropriated for agriculture and allied sector and sanctioned by the Union Govt. He also apprised the ACS about the intense campaigns launched by Jammu and Kashmir’s BJP Kissan Morcha across this Union Territory to propagate and promote organic farming besides making the farmers aware about the countless benefits of millet crop cultivation.
During a detailed and healthy discussion between the ACS and the delegation members, Sarabjit Singh told Atal Dulloo that the Kissan Morcha members are receiving a very healthy response from the farmers for shifting to organic farming on the whole and according preference to millet crop cultivation. He said it was quite encouraging to witness that some farmers had already started shifting to organic farming and many had commenced the cultivation of the millet crop. He said that these farmers said that Agriculture Department has been relentlessly educating the farmers of the region about the latest trends in farming and the ways and means to ensure that their incomes get substantially increased in a short span of time.
Atal Dulloo, while lauding the efforts of the Kissan Morcha in augmenting the UT Administration’s efforts in bringing a revolution in J&K’s farming sector, apprised them of the schemes and projects related to Agriculture and allied sectors rolled out by the Govt especially for the farmers. He asked the Kissan Morcha leaders to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the benefit of the aforesaid schemes reaches the tail-enders in line. He also assured them full support of the department’s men and machinery in the endeavours launched by them to ameliorate the food producing community.
Sarabjit Singh assured the ACS that Kissan Morcha will vigorously work at the grass roots level to make the movements regarding organic farming and Millet crop cultivation a great success.
