Jammu, May 1: In a major success, security forces on Monday busted a terrorist hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that acting on specific information received through reliable sources regarding presence of cache of arms, ammunition and related material in the far flung hilly and forested area of tehsil Khari, a search operation was launched by joint team of local police along with special operation group in the Burzalla forest area.
A suspected location was searched during which police busted a militant hideout and ammunition among other things were recovered from the spot.
The recovery included two rifle grenades, one UBGL thrower, a wireless without battery, two IEDs with wire, one detonator type with wire, 17 AK47 cartilage, seven 9 mm cartilage, one glass bottle having glycerine type liquid, one khakhi jacket and one black leather shoe.
A case under various sections has been registered and investigations have started.
The entire search operation was led by police party of Police Post Khari under the supervision of Mohita Sharma, SP Ramban. (KNO)
