Capacity building measure programs for stakeholders to start soon: Dir Tourism

Srinagar, Jun 16: After the inoculation drive, the tourism department is all set to start capacity building measure programs for stakeholders associated with the tourism industry very soon.
An official said that a meeting was held at SKICC on Wednesday and before the start of the capacity building measure programs which will commence very soon across different locations in the valley.
He said that for Houseboat owners and Shikara walas the program will be held at Dal Lake only and with different tourism destinations across the valley, the stakeholders will be calibrated at their tourist destinations.
“Before starting the program a quick review was taken by the Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Director Tourism and we are hopeful that the program will generate a good response”, he said.
Those who participated in the meeting were Commissioner Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez, Director Tourism Dr. G. N. Itoo, CEOs of different tourist destinations and other officials.
Pertinent to mention that, in view of the ongoing Covid pandemic situation in valley along with the other parts of the country, Tourism department in Kashmir has roped in the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) and other agencies to calibrate the stakeholders associated with the tourism industry regarding the adoption of Covid appropriate behavior, while dealing with tourists.
