The stabbing incident in Batamaloo area of Srinagar as the whole society puzzled as one could hardly imagine such an extreme step from a juvenile and that too for a wrongful and non-permissible relationship. The killing of a father, can never be a solution for reaching any logical conclusion, but the rowdiness among the younger generation, is certainly giving an indication of the worse situation ahead as the stabbing incident is not for the first time that has taken place in the Valley, but a few more have been reported in the recent past as well. It seems that the young boys in Kashmir are not even afraid of the law and thus are reluctant to even think about what they are opting to do. Such an extreme step is leaving the victim’s family completely shattered, but the rowdiness among the youth continues to gain pace, leaving the society completely vulnerable to these actions. To begin with, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the respective areas falling under their jurisdiction need to identify all these youngsters, who carry the sharp edged weapons with them usually and take them to the task. Moreover, to put an end to the immoral activities on the ground, there is a need to rope in all the religious organizations and to form a strategy to keep the younger generations intact with the religious teachings so that there is an end to these stabbing and other related cases. Therefore, the government as well as the society needs to come forward and sit on a table to address the grave issue as soon as possible.
