Decline in Hajj applications deserves attention

The frequent traffic mess outside the Srinagar International Airport has left many passengers aggrieved so far as it was taking a lot of time for passengers to reach the premises of Airport to catch the flight. The issue was raised many times with the top officials and fortunately, the voice has not gone unheard as the authorities have come up with a unique initiative of e-cart services from the main gate of the airport to the premises. The facility, which is free of cost, is set to bring respite to the passengers as it will no longer force the passenger to wait in the long queues to catch the flight. The passengers were seen praising the airport administration for coming up with the initiative, stating that the authorities have fulfilled their demands. However, given the flow of passengers at the Srinagar international airport, only four e-carts will not be sufficient to cater the rush of the passengers. Therefore, in order to ensure complete redressal of the grievances of passengers, there is a need to make more such e-carts available so that the passengers could heave a sigh of relief. The e-carts is a unique initiative and would not only bring respite to the people, but also lead to the decline in the flow of people within the airport premises, which would help in strengthening further security at the airport. Moreover, it would also help in reducing the burden on security personnel guarding at the main gate to check the large number of vehicles visiting the airport on a regular basis. Such initiatives are a welcome step and need to be appreciated by one and all. Nonetheless, the number of such e-carts needs to be enhanced so that outside vehicles will not be allowed within the premises of Srinagar international airport.
