Kupwara, Jun 10: Aimed to boost the potential and tourist footfall to Bungus Valley, a transport facility has been started beside a resort for the ease of visitors has come up close to the tourist destination.
Bungus Valley is located about 150 kilometers away from Srinagar. It is nested in the lap of the mountain at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level. This virgin tourist destination is better known for its exclusive breathtaking natural beauty, including snow-capped mountains, lush green forests, and much more.
Officials said that steps are being taken to explore Bungus as a first-choice tourist destination by providing all the facilities to the visitors without causing any damage to the natural habitat.
They said that a lot of steps are in the offing to enhance the facilities and promote the destination as a prime tourist place.
The official also said that locals are being actively engaged to help themselves earn a good livelihood. “Each step shall provide ample opportunities for locals to make a living. With increasing tourist footfall in the district people mainly those associated with tourism activities and business will get an economic boost,” the official said.
In this regard aimed to increase tourism activities in Bungus Valley, transport facilities have been started from Kralpora up to the nearest drop place.
Farooq Ahmad, president of the Kralpora- Chowkibal Sumo association president said that the services have begun today for the visitors.
“We will provide transport facilities to visitors. This will be a daily affair from now on from Kralpora to the nearest drop point of Bungus,” he said.
He also said that earlier all the visitors in the absence of the transport facilities were forced to book cabs and pay hefty charges. “Now each passenger will be on their own. The travel is now cheaper thus increasing the tourist flow.”
Meanwhile, a tourist resort has also come up in the areas on the banks of the river with breathtaking views.
The visitors will now get to avail the facilities at Marsari. “Facilities like boarding, lodging, including meals and others will be available at the resort.”
Locals have hailed the efforts, saying that it’ll also help them to earn livelihood and further assist them to improve to provide much better facilities to tourists.
