Five months on, over 16 % health care workers yet to get first dose of vaccine

Over 50 percent yet to take second jab

Srinagar, Jun 17: Even after elapsing over five months since vaccination drive against Covid-19 was started in J&K, over 16 percent health care workers in J&K are yet to get their first dose of vaccine.
Official sources said that earlier health care workers were hesitant in taking the dose that is why around 16 percent are yet to get vaccinated
In Srinagar of 15,492 health care workers, 10,957 have received first jab while 5,104 have received both jabs.
“The percentage of health care workers who have received the first jab is 70.73 percent while 32.95 percent have received the second jab,” data available with KNO suggests. “In Kulgam of 5,347 healthcare workers, 78.21 percent have received the first jab and 37.57 percent have received the second jab. In Shopian, of 1764, 83.56 percent received the first jab and 50.57 percent received third jab. In Bandipora, of 3,170, 71.07 percent and 33.85 percent have received first and second jabs respectively.”
He said that in Anantnag of 8,841 healthcare workers, 67.35 percent have received first dose and 33.44 percent have received second dose and in Baramulla of 7,545 healthcare workers, 88.44 percent have received first jab and 53.13 percent have received second jab.
“In Kupwara out of 7,761 healthcare workers, 65.52 percent have received the first jab and 39.72 percent have received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 3,767 workers 94.05 percent have received the first jab while 50.33 percent have received the second jab. In Ganderbal of 2,903 healthcare workers 83.16 percent have received first jab and 44.92 percent have received second jab and in Budgam of 5,914 workers 83.14 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while 55.21 percent have received second jab,” the data reveals.
It further states that similarly in Jammu, Kishtiwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi 93.33 percent, 71.98 percent, 96.32 percent, 96.40 percent, 91.17 percent, 92.94 percent, 100.00 percent, 90.47 percent, 88.23 percent and 76.35 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while as 61.61 percent, 38.21 percent, 51.95 percent, 64.78 percent, 53.93 percent, 62.81 percent, 70.68 percent, 56.13 percent 55.05 percent and 48.42 percent have received second dose respectively.
“In aggregate form, of 122,235 heath care workers, 102,025 (83.47 percent) have received first jab and 60,258 (49.30 percent) have received second jab respectively,” the data adds.
