Baramulla, Jun 24: Nehru Yuva Kendra Baramulla (NYK) Saturday organised “Knowledge Competition” on the theme, “Catch the Rain” at Sheeri village of district Baramulla.
“Catch the Rain” campaign was initiated by National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Government of India, to nudge the States and stake-holders to create appropriate Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS) suitable to the climatic conditions and sub-soil strata before monsoon.
The programme began with a keynote address from Head of Narwav Institute and National Youth Volunteer (NYV).
Youngsters and students from varying groups of ages participated in the competitions with great enthusiasm.
As part of the event, the participants, public and executives of Mumtaza Youth Club also took the water pledge.
Winners and runners of the programme distributed certificates and awards.
