Srinagar, Jun 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a person along with 380 fake gold biscuits at Khanpora area of Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad assisted by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khanpora Bridge intercepted a person who tried to flee after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully, a police spokesman said in a statement.
He has been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rahim Dar resident of Khanpora Baramulla.
During search, 380 fake gold biscuits weighing about 380 grams was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.
