Belittling others: What Islam teaches us

The dreams of several families got shattered due to the increasing drug abuse in Jammu & Kashmir as the many youngsters have so far died due to the overdose of drugs and in the recent past, two such deaths have been reported in the Valley. A fresh death has been reported in the Old city area Wednesday where a young boy, who was the lone son of his parents, has died, reportedly due to the overdose of the drugs, leaving his family completely shattered. The death of the youngster is not only case, but there has been steep rise in such deaths across the Valley, but it seems that the society is not ready to fight the menace in letter and spirit as the drug dealers within the localities are selling the drugs among the youngsters and the society is not even bothering to put an end to such happenings and events or even talk to the concerned authorities to put an end to such dealings and smugglings. One fails to understand why the people are silent and why they are not putting their efforts and joining hands with the Police authorities to eliminate the drugs from the society. It is the responsibility of everyone to come forward and make sincere efforts and identify all those within the localities, who are selling drugs among the youth. The society needs to rise to the occasion and ensure that all those behind the drug dealings and smuggling are dealt with strictly as per the law.
