Srinagar, Jun 22: A police inspector was on Tuesday evening shot dead by the unidentified gunmen at Nowgam area in Srinagar outskirts.
Official sources said that a police inspector identified as Parvez Ahmad Dar of B K Pora in Nowgam was fired upon by the suspected militants.
The inspector was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar where he was declared brought dead.
Medical Superintendent of SMHS, Kanwaljeet Singh said that the injured who had sustained bullet injury was brought dead at the hospital. (KNO)
