The roads and streets have been macadamized at most of the places across Srinagar and elsewhere, but what has remained unchanged is the lack of public support as the people continue to park their vehicles outside the shops and departments here in the interiors of the City areas here, causing huge inconvenience to the commuters. In Srinagar, the inner lanes continue to witness illegal car parking here, leaving less space for the commuters to travel. The dilapidated roads in Srinagar interiors was considered as one among the main reasons behind the traffic congestion, but the condition of roads might have changed while the sufferings of people continue to remain there as the people are seemingly showing reluctance to park their vehicles as per the norms. The people must extend the support to the traffic department and make sure that the situation is not turned miserable for the commuters by parking the vehicles illegally on the roadsides in the interiors of the City areas. The situation has changed in city centre Lal Chowk as the people are now parking their vehicles at the designated places only, but there is a need to follow the suit in the interiors of the City where a huge rush of vehicles could be seen throughout the day. The roads in the City areas should also be designed the way it has been designed in the city centre so that the people would follow the norms and park their vehicles as per the norms only so that the commuters here could heave a sigh of relief.
