The ‘scan and share OPD’ Out-Patient Department tickets has brought a sigh of relief to the people across Jammu & Kashmir in the hospitals as the major troublesome situation of long queues have been resolved, making it easy for the people to get the tickets and get the appointments in an easier manner. The hospitals remained in the news for a long time because of the long queues as the people were being forced to wait for hours to get the OPD tickets prior to the meeting with the doctors, but now the government has come up with a unique way to tackle the situation. The ‘scan and share OPD’ tickets have been introduced with an aim to tackle the situation, which finally has brought the situation under control and also eased the situation for the attendants as well as the patients at the hospitals. Moreover, Jammu & Kashmir has acquired second position across the country in generating ‘Scan and Share OPD’ tokens surpassing Karnataka state by generating more than 7,92,641 tokens in August 2023, which shows how the people were keenly waiting for the move to see an end to the long queues at the hospitals. There is a need to come up with more such initiatives at the hospitals, especially where the flow of patients remains high on a daily basis so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief and an unnecessary troublesome situation is put to an immediate end for the wellbeing of the people.
